Orange Lotus Yoga Classes ON HOLD

It will come as no surprise that I have taken the decision to put all my yoga classes on hold. With heavy heart and sadness however in current situation I think it’s the best solution because I do have classes with vulnerable people. But I will not let the virus to defeat us! I am planning on scheduling two online classes to keep us sane

Gentle Hatha Yoga Mondays 7.30 PM – 9PM

Relaxation and mindfulness Wednesdays at 8PM – 9PM

Due to my insurance requirements both have to be live sessions. My students will receive the email on how to access them and the payment details.

During the restriction we are facing I also will add a free session on Tuesday night – that will be a space to chat and come together as yoga community, find out how you are, do you have any questions about practice, does anyone needs help. Free sessions will be available on Zoom, anyone can join. Will start with breathing practice to calm our mind.

Tuesdays 7-8PM

Also if you are staying at home with kids from next week I will be posting every day on Facebook some easy breathing practices for children and parents to keep us sane and calm

So like Orange Lotus Yoga page and check the updates.

And most important stay healthy and safe!

Hopefully we can start again after Easter.

Coronavirus COVID-19

As you will no doubt be aware, the potential for further spread of the corona-virus within the UK is highly likely, if not inevitable.

As such I ask that if you currently have any of the symptoms associated with Corona-virus, or if you have recently returned from any of the areas detailed on the government website that you do not attend yoga classes. Please see links below:

https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/common-questions/
https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/coronavirus-covid-19-list-of-guidance

I understand that it may be disappointing that you are not able to come to yoga class; however, I am only taking this action to ensure the well-being of those that attend the yoga classes. Also, if you are in isolation, I can provide 1:1 class via Skype or group classes via zoom. If we are all put in quarantine, I am thinking of creating private Facebook group with some live feeds, some mindful movement and relaxation / meditation techniques so please like the page to see updates.
In case of quarantine I will email in advance with cancellation notice, so please keep an eye on the email.

What you can do to lower the risk of spreading the virus in the yoga class:

  • Bring your own mat
  • Antibacterial wipes will be provided in the class if you wish to wipe the mat before using it.
  • Bathrooms are equipped with soap and towels, please wash your hands before the class and after.
  • I will avoid hands on adjustments – and I know I rarely do that anyway, but I will eliminate it for the time being.
  • When you sneeze or cough, bin the tissue and wipe the hands.

What is also important to remember that being cautious and aware of spreading the disease and taking the personal responsibility for our actions is really crucial, however living in a fear is not a solution. And that’s a brilliant mindfulness practice on how to be aware of your feelings, emotions and thoughts but not being sucked into them and allow them to rule your life. I hope you will stay calm and healthy.

OLY Yogi Superhero Book!

I’m so happy and excited at the same time! My first book for children is finally here! Yogi Superhero is available on Amazon now.
It took us few months to put it together and there were few people involved in the process I would like to thank. First of all, the illustrator Art of Martyna Nejman who brought yogi superhero to life. Illustrations are breath taking and I could not ask for better ones. Also special thanks to Stephen Whieldon for checking and re-checking the text. And everyone else which double checked it Samantha Holmes and Sylwia. To Aleksandra Walczak for sharing her knowledge and experience. But most of all my husband Russell Smithers who supported me all the way and never stopped believing. Thanks to him my dreams come true!

So, if you are thinking of introducing yoga to children that’s the perfect book. Ideal for children 3-8 years old. It does have its own rhythm and it rhymes. A meaningful book which demonstrates mindful yoga poses and breathing exercise. This colour book tells the story which allows children to understand that we already are Yogi Superheroes, we just sometimes forget about it. It teaches basic poses which help to self-soothe and self-regulate in our crazy world and help with managing negative emotions. Easy to follow poses are perfect for a bedtime or morning yoga. Readers will learn techniques for relaxing the body and the mind. Beautiful illustrations are showing yoga poses and the connection with nature. Book is based on my Yogi Superhero program for children ages 4-12 which I started to deliver 2 years ago.
Hope you enjoy it!
